Man arrested for making false report

On November twelfth, forty-eight year old Benigno Chan, a Belizean businessman of San Jose Succotz Village walked into the police station and reported that he was attacked by two men who robbed him of his sixteen gauge shotgun and cartridges. However, police claim that Chan along with the Jimenez’s brothers, were drinking when an argument erupted. It is alleged that Chan pulled out his shotgun and pointed it at the brothers. The two men knocked the gun away and then proceeded to beat Chan. The weapon was, however, returned later that day. Chan has been charged with the crime of committing a mischievous act for making a false report and aggravated assault for pulling the gun on the Jimenez?s brothers. Meanwhile, the brothers will be charged with assault.
