Investigation Into Fatal Accident Continues
Police say they still haven’t been able to determine who was driving the mini-SUV that was involved in the fatal crash on Tuesday morning. Forty-three-year-old Dorian Anthony was killed when a vehicle he was travelling in experienced a rear tire blowout and crashed into a parked trailer container at mile thirteen on the George Price Highway. Gary Trapp and Dan Myers were also inside the vehicle, they suffered minor injuries and have since been released from the hospital.
Supt. Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Eastern Division
“They observed a red color vehicle under a trailer that was parked on the left hand side of the road and inside of the vehicle they saw the motionless body of person later identified as forty-three-years-old Dorian Anthony of a North Creek address. Police understand that the vehicle was travelling from Belize City towards Hattieville when the vehicle experienced a blow-out and the vehicle collided into the trailer that was parked on the left hand side of the road. Travelling with him were two other male persons who were treated and released the same day.”

“Have you all determined who the driver was?”
Supt. Alejandro Cowo
“Not at this moment that I know. The person that was found inside the vehicle was found between the driver and front passenger side of the vehicle.”
Andrea Polanco
“Sir, who was the owner of the vehicle? Is it is one of the gentlemen inside?”
Supt. Alejandro Cowo
“Well, that is something with the investigation that we have at this moment.”
Andrea Polanco
“Did they indicate if they were speeding and that may have resulted in that blow out?”
Supt. Alejandro Cowo
“That wasn’t mentioned but we suspect that was one of the factors that caused the vehicle to overturn and ending up under the trailer.”
