BEL, union agree to new contract
Employees of Belize Electricity Limited stand to benefit from a new collective bargaining agreement signed with the Belize Energy Workers Union. The agreement promises, among other things, a four point five percent salary increase retroactive to June first and an end of year bonus, which is four percent of salary based on achieving set company targets. Since its full privatisation earlier this year, BEL has sought to improve efficiency as well as service to its customers nationwide.
