Lois Forbes, dead at 37
It is never pleasant to report a death, but when the person in question happens to be a colleague, who dies in the prime of life, it makes it even more difficult. Lois Forbes began her career in 1983 as a secretary at Radio Belize and continued to work at the BCB until its demise in 1998. She stayed with government, working in the Ministry of Public Service, and was recently promoted. Lois Forbes died this morning at the youthful age of thirty-seven, apparently of a heart attack at her home on Raccoon Street Extension. In addition to scores of friends and colleagues, she leaves behind two sons, Jason and Darwin. In a business that is often characterized by stress, pressure and confusion, she always managed to bring calm and order to those around her. Lois Forbes, dead at thirty-seven.
