Gospel group releases new CD
The Mighty Ambassadors is the latest Christian group to release an album in Belize. The youthful band members have recorded tunes encompassing different Latin and Caribbean rhythms.
Francis Banner, Band Leader, Time Bomb
“We have a variety of songs on our CD. We include Punta Rock, Soca, Reggae, Cumbia and we also included techno in this release, so it’s a variety of music for everybody. The main songs on the CD are the Cumbia, because we don’t have many Christian groups in Belize that do techno songs, so we try to make a change.”
Louis Wade, Producer, Shamax Productions
“One of the things I like about this group is that it is very versatile. Not only in the type of songs it plays, but also you’ll find out there are songs both in English and Spanish. Also what I like it is that the person writes the song also sings the song. And you’ll see that there are a variety of singers on the album, which means there are a variety of writers in the band. So unlike many other bands, which may just have one or two writers, this group has four or five writers, to say the least. And the variety is great, I think it’s a breath of fresh air for Belizean music on a whole and particularly for Belizean Christian music.”
The CD costs thirty dollars and the cassette version is priced at fifteen. The band will perform on the twenty-fourth of November in Spanish Lookout.
