Accidental Shooting Death of Rafael Sansores

Commissioner Chester Williams also gave an update on the shooting death of Rafael Sansores in Corozal. The Chula Vista resident was with friends at a house he frequented in the White Cocal area of that northern town when a pellet gun they were playing with discharged. Sansores was hit to the chest and died hours later at the Northern Regional Hospital in Orange Walk. ComPol Williams officially confirms that the fatal shooting was accidental.

“The matter in Corozal obviously was a really sad case. Three friends playing with a pellet gun and one end up shooting the other causing fatal injuries.”

The ComPol also told News Five that even though COVID-19 is a priority; his officers remain on the ground to deal with criminal activity.
