2 Persons Detained for the Murder of Ismael Jacobs in Punta Gorda

There were three fatal shootings over the course of four days last week, two of which have been recorded as murders. The most recent occurred on the night of April second in southern Belize in the Indianville community of Punta Gorda.  News Five has confirmed that two persons have been detained for questioning in the murder of Ismael Jacobs. Around seven p.m. that night, Jacobs was discovered dead in the living room of his house with multiple gunshot wounds. Reports are that he was socializing with a group of persons when a gunman entered the front door and ended his life. Today, ComPol Chester Williams told News Five that a motive for this murder is yet to be ascertained.

“The one in Punta Gorda, two persons are currently in custody who we believe are the ones responsible. Investigators are interviewing them at this time with a view to see how far they are going to get with it.”
