Managing Director Raymond Barkman says that they are doing the buy two get one free promo which will help to cut some losses in the industry because, as it stands, they are losing profits. They, however, want the public to have chicken, which is the most affordable source of meats on the market.

This is to help all of us that are struggling right now to get a chicken at an affordable price and hopefully we can help all the struggling homes out there with a nice protein meal at an affordable price, obviously. It is at a big loss to us and we are just turning a blind eye currently and not worrying about the financial effects this will obviously have. We are just trying to get through it.”

“It actually went off crazy and we are not able to keep up as you know the delivery trucks are doing retail and they are getting swarmed with customers around the trucks.    It’s going much better than I anticipated and obviously we were under prepared and it is super busy right now.”

“Is there a reason why you decided to do this promotion – is it because you have a surplus of chickens on your hands?”

“Yes, most definitely we do; that is a big key factor here. As you know COVID-19 came out of nowhere and so there was no preparing. With tourism and everything, we were running a normal schedule as if we would have a good tourism season and as you know March is a high month for tourism in the cruise ship industry especially and so we were ready and then with Easter just passed we were preparing for good sales during this time of the year and that took a complete one-eighty.”
