Taxi driver found dead on Western Highway

The body of well-known taxi driver Roy Geban was found this morning, with several gunshot wounds. Geban, usually worked his trade on Albert Street in front of Nova Scotia Bank. Last night at a quarter to seven, he left home as usual and when he did not return that night, his father assumed he was working late. But when morning came and he still had not come home, is father became very worried.

“When I woke it was five minutes to seven. After I brushed my teeth and everything, they called us and said they found my son dead on the road and I must come and identify the body. They found the body at three and a half miles Western Highway and the car behind Queen’s Square. They had it, the music was on loud, the doors open, the engine running and someone phoned the police and told them that the vehicle was making a lot of noise and to come and quiet it. When the police got there, they figured that maybe it was a stolen car. But after they got the car and took it to the station, and after they found the body, they saw that the body corresponded with the car. What surprised me was that how can the body be at three and a half miles and the car somewhere else, so I said that something must went wrong. We just went and identified the body and we saw a big bullet hole in his head. We didn’t see it, but we heard that he got shot in his chest and in his side and his face is cut up with either a knife or a machete or something like an edge tool.”

“None at all. He’s a nice, easygoing fellow. He has friends everywhere he goes. He’s not quarrelsome and people like him.”

Geban leaves behind five children. He would have celebrated his thirty-seventh birthday Sunday October twenty-ninth.
