Ahmadiyya Muslim Humbly Assists with Food Pantry

Naveed Mangla

The Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Belize has also been doing its part in assisting needy Belizeans through its own pantry programme.  This week, they reached out to several impoverished neighbourhoods where residents were assisted with various food it items.  The charitable effort says Mangla, certainly helps to fulfill their religious obligations.

President Naveed Mangla, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Belize

“Nowadays, what we’re doing is that we‘re going in those areas in the city where we think that we can offer some sort of help and physically we‘re showing by giving some pantry bags, some food hampers to those members in our city that might be the most neglected ones.  That‘s to physically show that the religion of Islam is not just pertaining to the mosque but the two most important things that you learn as a Muslim is that your duties towards God Almighty and number two is your duty towards human beings.  How is it possible that I have food at my table and my own neighbor is hungry?  Therefore, the Prophet has taught us that if you remove a hardship or an obstacle from a person who is in trouble then God will remove trouble from you on the day of judgment.”
