Finnegan Commends Teachers Amid Delayed Salaries
Educators across the country, those whose salaries are covered by government, will be paid on April twenty-ninth, along with all other public officers. The unusually tardy payday is the result of monies having to be allocated by government amid the economic hardships stemming from the COVID-19 calamity. Following Monday’s special sitting of the House of Representatives, Mesopotamia Area Rep Michael Finnegan weighed in briefly on the late payment.

“Teachers are good, intelligent and sensible people and I can vouch for that and I am very supportive of them. There are thousands of people out there who will get no pay at all, who will never see a money in months to come. Thank God, teachers will be able to see their money and see their money in full but a few days late. Thank God for teachers and thank God they are getting their payday and teachers are sensible people.”
