CitCo Anticipates that Revenue Stream Will Pick Up
Now that there will be a relaxation of certain measures of the state of emergency, municipal governments are looking towards an improvement in revenue streams. Since April first, most departments closed and revenues dried up to less than ten percent. Earlier this week, traffic department services opened and it is expected that with the ease to restrictions, there will be a gradual resurgence in the economic flow. Mayor Bernard Wagner says that the council is ready to continue with business.

“Our revenue stream had dried up significantly, down to ten percent of what we used to collect. Since we opened back Monday, it has picked up a bit—not the level that we want it to eventually reach. But again it takes planning, it takes prudent financial discipline and management and I think we have already met payroll for our staff at the half platform again for this payday right here. And we continue to work the system. We do it with the knowledge that our people are suffering and we want to be able to alleviate any type of suffering for our staff and the city residents as well.”
