Street Side Vendors Still Not Allowed to Operate

If you are smiling all the way to the salon, one of the businesses still not allowed to operate are street-side vendors.  So the tacos stands up the road and the rice and beans lady down the street will remain closed.  Restaurants will continue to operate delivery and take-out services and no vending is allowed during the extended state of emergency.  For many families, vending is their source of revenue. A concerned vendor from Dangriga responded to News Five on the issue saying, “Some of us are streets vendors and that’s our income and that’s what we use to pay our bills. If we can’t sell, how can we pay our house rent and utilities?” It is a legitimate concern, but the Attorney General emphasized that street vendors are still not allowed to operate.

“Food vendors, no street food vendors? However what if someone has a stall at the market that sells tacos.”

“No, they can’t that is a food vendor.”

“What if it is takeaway?”

“No, no. You got to the market to buy your vegetable as such. If you have a restaurant license in the market then you are a restaurant. You do takeout but if you don’t have a restaurant license then you can’t operate as a restaurant.”

Restaurants at hotels are also restricted to providing room service.
