Police have leads but Blake’s killers still at large
Police have confirmed that they have impounded a white vehicle with a Texas license plate they believe may have been used in the murder of Therese Blake Ayuso. A total of five people, not necessarily suspects, have so far been questioned in the investigation, including the victim’s estranged husband Libby Ayuso Jr. The daughter of the late multi-millionaire James Blake was shot to death Thursday afternoon around one in front of the Belize Pickwick Club on Newtown Barracks. Forensic pathologist Dr. Mario Estradabran told News Five that the post mortem revealed that Blake died of traumatic asphyxia as a result of two gunshot wounds. One pierced her chest and the other entered her back. Police are still not saying exactly what happened, however, unconfirmed reports are that Blake came home after she picked up her four-year old daughter from school only to find two men, one dark skinned, the other somewhat lighter, waiting for her. The men forced their way into her white Pontiac van and one of the assailants took the wheel and drove around the lane into the area of BTL Park. It is theorized that Blake then struggled with her kidnappers and the driver lost control of the van and crashed into another white van. Following the collision Blake was shot. Police found a thirty-two calibre shell on the scene. According to police, the two suspects are still at large. At this time the most likely motive for the abduction was kidnapping. It appears that following the collision, the kidnappers simply panicked. Therese Blake Ayuso will be laid to rest on Sunday at three p.m. at Holy Redeemer Cathedral.
