ComPol Williams Says Exercise was Taking Place at Body 2000

So a member of the police team says the building was shuttered and locked and they got no answer from inside. Neal and the other five persons charged also have their own version of what transpired at Body 2000 this morning. But Commissioner of Police Chester Williams says that the gym was in fact in use for exercise purposes. In an interview he granted earlier today, ComPol Williams told the media that the owner of the facility attempted to conceal the fact that the gym was in fact open by simply shuttering the entrance to the building.

“This morning we got information that Body 2000 was open, but again the proprietor tried to be astute in the sense that they pulled down the shutter, made it look like it was close, but the members were inside working out. So they would come to the gym, they go inside and then shutters are pulled down to make it look like they are closed. And so I had sent the officers to the gym this morning to check and yes they found out that there were four persons inside working out and the shutters were closed. And so those persons were detained and I have directed the officer in charge of Belize City to ensure that the manager or owner of the gym is located.”
