Former PM Said Musa Recuperating from Mild Stroke

Said Musa

Well wishes flowed today for the quick recovery of former Prime Minister Said Musa and sitting Area Representative for Fort George Division. The former PM is recuperating after a mild stroke that landed him in the hospital overnight. The seventy-six year old started feeling discomfort in the afternoon on Thursday and was taken to a private facility on Thursday night. His family, through his son Kareem Musa of Caribbean Shores sent out a message to say that the older Musa was recovering and is expected to be hospitalized for the next few days.  He is said to be alert and because of COVID-19, visits are limited to immediate family members. Today, both the leader of the P.U.P. and the current PM sent best wishes.

Dean Barrow

Prime Minister Dean Barrow

“Allow me the opportunity to express my best wishes for a speedy recovery for the Right Honourable Said Musa, the ex-Prime Minister of Belize. I understand that he was last night admitted to hospital having suffered what was described as a mild stroke. I’m sure that I join all other Belizeans in wishing him a speedy and completed recovery.”

John Briceño

John Briceño, Leader of the Opposition

“I was shocked and I am very concerned. But at least after speaking to members of his family I feel better because it seems that he is on his way to recovery. You know Said has given much of his life to this country, representing as an area representative in Fort George; in working towards helping the Father of the Nation, the Right Honourable George Price, in his quest for independence. He has been a two-term prime minister; he was a leader of our party. So all of us have a lot of regard and respect and love for Said. We are all rooting for him, we are praying for him and God willing, he will bounce back.”
