P.U.C declines B.E.L submission for rate reduction
We reported on Thursday’s newscast that B.E.L. had applied for a six percent reduction in electricity rates for the year July first, 2009 to June thirtieth 2010. And in a follow up to that story, a release by the P.U.C. late in the evening, quickly shot down the request. According to the P.U.C, B.E.L. did not make submissions for a Full Tariff Review in January. And as such it cannot accept any other submissions from the utility company. This comes on the heels of an injunction that B.E.L. was granted on February twenty-sixth to stop the implementation of lower rates proposed by the P.U.C.
