Nazarene High damaged by water
Nazarene High School was not used as a shelter, but it still sustained plenty of damage from Keith’s torrential rains. News Five spoke to the school’s principal who is hoping to have the school dry and ready for class next week.
Samuel Sukhnandan, Principal, Nazarene High School
“Here at Nazarene we estimate the loss of hurricane Keith to be in the region of about $70,000. We have lost all our typewriters, which are electronic typewriters, several computers, lost several ceilings, windows and other infrastructure.”
Jose Sanchez
“Do you have any idea how you are going to get the funds in to replace all the equipment?”
Samuel Sukhnandan
“It took me nearly ten years to get all that we had and to bring the school where we are. So I believe we are a couple years back. If we get some help, some aid, certainly we will be back on track in a couple months. But certainly the typewriting department and the computer department is out of commission for several weeks.”

“Have any of the students come by to assist you with the cleaning?”
Samuel Sukhnandan
“Sure, we have had good school spirit here today. Most of our 4th form students are here, several staff members are here today. And a few of them came yesterday and assisted. So We are getting help from our staff and our fourth form students that we asked to come out.”
