Boat Crashes into San Pedro Pier; 2 Persons are Injured

There was another accident, but this one at sea. Two persons were injured during a boat accident on Sunday evening in San Pedro. After six o’clock on Sunday, police were called out to the San Pedro International Marine Terminal, on the lagoon side, where a twenty-five feet Mexican Lanchon boat had crashed into the wooden wharf of the terminal. Boat captain Horace Bladen was driving the vessel, named Jackson Nicholas and registered to Serious Adventures Tours of San Pedro Town, when he lost control of the boat which collided into the wooden wharf. The impact caused the passengers on board to be thrown overboard and into the lagoon. Also on the boat with Bladen were Sandra McLean Leslie, Roy Bradley, Jose Lopez and Celestino Campos. Bladen received abrasions to the right side of face and a swollen left forearm, whilst Bradley suffered a cut wound to the top of head and abrasion below the right eye. The other three persons were unhurt. The value of the damage caused to the pier is unknown at his time and an assessment is pending. Statements have been recorded and urine sample obtained from Bladen, who has since been served with a notice of intended prosecution.  A Port Authority personnel has since inspected the scene.
