Shopkeeper robbed at gunpoint

Though the Cash for Guns scheme might have gotten some high-powered weapons off the street, a robbery today in Belize City proves that there are still plenty of guns in the hands of criminals. At around ten o’clock this morning, Victor Matus the owner of Matus Shop at 37-B Fairweather Street, was held at pistol point while three men looted his cash register. After robbing the store, the men also stole money from two customers. Before they escaped, the jackers threatened to harm anyone who would attempt to identify them. Police are looking for suspects from the Jump Street area.
