An Attempted Robbery at a Paint Store in the City
Around three-thirty this afternoon there was a daring attempted robbery at a paint store at the corner of Douglas Jones and Cran Streets on north side Belize City. At least two brazen armed robbers entered IMASA Paints, which is one of two businesses housed at the property. Police responded shortly after, but by then, the robbers had already fled the scene, leaving their slippers behind. Fortunately, we are told, that the thieves left empty-handed. Surveillance cameras on the property reportedly captured the incident. Around four p.m., the employees closed the businesses as scenes of crime personnel retrieved the surveillance footage. Residents in the area recount what they saw when they came outside.
Voice of: Resident
“We came outside and we saw the police officers over by the paint store. We saw slippers on the ground. I don’t know what really happened, but it is very concerning cause we don’t usually see those type of stuff around here.”

“It’s a robbery. You ‘fraid now?”
Voice of: Resident
“Of course.”
