Expo 2000 will highlight local business

This weekend, Expo Belize 2000 kicks off at the SJC gymnasium. This year the two-day event promises to be bigger with more displays and giveaways for the millennium show. The exposition is held to highlight what is available on the Belizean market and it is also an excellent opportunity for consumers to save money with special promotions offered by most exhibitors. Today we visited the SJC gym with event coordinator Sherry Constantino. The preparations are already underway and things should be looking good for Saturday.
Sherry Constantino, Organizer, Expo Belize 2000
“We have a wide variety of industries taking part this year. Actually, it has expanded this year because we have expanded the grounds to accommodate more businesses and we have a lot of new organisations that are taking part as well.”

“Why it the two-day event held?”
Sherry Constantino
“So that business throughout the country can come all under one roof to display their products and it’s easier for the public to see what the country on a whole has to offer in terms of manufacturing and products that we have to sell here within the country of Belize.”
If you plan on attending Expo, you can get your tickets in advance at the Belize Chamber of Commerce. Prices are two dollars for adults and one dollar for children. Tickets can also be bought on each day of the fair at the door.
