George Price to be honoured as hero
It is a traditional part of the September celebrations, but this year’s Tribute to Belizean Patriots will be special. On the night of September 19th Belize’s first prime minister and father of independence, George Price, will receive the first ever National Hero of Belize award. The honour, which will offer the public a chance to thank the still active 80-year old politician for his many years of service, will be bestowed in a ceremony beginning at seven o’clock at the City Centre. It will also be televised live across the nation on Channel Five.
