The prices show the wholesale as well as the retail prices for the commodity in the urban and rural areas across the country.  The new retail prices in urban areas increased from three dollars and seventy-six cents to four dollars and twenty-four cents, that an increase of forty-eight cents per gallon.  In rural areas, the price is slightly higher at four dollars and thirty-four cents. The wholesale price is two dollars and sixty-four cents across the board. . The Belize Bureau of Standards says the hike is due to an increase in acquisition costs for LPG.
