Tape Boss Wants His Reputation Back After Social Media Faux Pas

Roderick Wade

You may know him on social media as Tape Boss, but tonight Roderick Wade is trying to clear his name after a crude joke on Facebook backfired on him.  Several weeks ago, Wade posted a video onto his social media account along with a narrative that purportedly described an unwanted sexual encounter with an unknown woman.  Many found the story to be utterly repulsive and accused Wade of sexual assault.  After being slammed by the Office of the Special Envoy for Women and Children, he was subsequently taken into police custody where he was held for forty-eight hours and released without charge.  That’s because the entire story was fabricated and there was no virtual complainant to come forward with an allegation of rape.  Wade remains a free man and today he says he simply wants his reputation back.

“The story was, well most people know the story whereby I, you know, tell a story about a female in which I posted the video and a day after I posted the video stating that, well dah mih wahn lie, dah wahn made up story.  But when I posted the one whereby someone did not like me, who I don’t even know, decide that they will share it with all the negative stuff, I had over two hundred and something shares on that particular video.  When I posted the video stating that it was a lie, it had bout maybe wahn five shares, just to prove that well Belizeans run with negativity more than anything else. People shared it an Special Envoy get to the video whereby police actually unlawfully detained me for forty-eight hours because at the end of the day dehn neva had no report pan me or nothing like that.  So dehn unlawfully hold me for forty-eight hours because people di push fi mek dehn arrest me fi something weh noh even, it’s a joke.  People just too thin skin, but everybody know how I go da Belize, everybody know I full a controversy, a lotta people noh like me.”
