Leadership Convention Amid COVID-19

How will the upcoming leadership convention be conducted amid social distancing and limited crowd sizes post the state of emergency? According to Peyrefitte, who is also the attorney general, all steps will be taken to adhere to new rules going forward.

“It will have to take place within the protocols set forth by the government going forward, even though the state of emergency will end on June thirtieth there will still be protocols as to how we conduct our movements and gatherings in the future.  So whatever those are we will have to comply with those, I don’t imagine that it will be as grand an event as it was the last time at the Belize City Center but our delegates will have a safe place to go and vote I am sure and the traffic will be channeled in such a way that we are safe while at the same time casting our vote for the next leader of the party.”
