H.R.C.U. to Issue Education Grants
In addition, to providing homes for its member owners, the Holy Redeemer Credit Union is once again coming through with education grants to assist students on their academic journey. In recent weeks, a number of corporate citizens have stepped up to provide tuition scholarships for students. Last year, H.R.C.U. issued over four hundred thousand dollars in education grants. And this year, they are already in the process of finalising this programme. Chief Education Officer, Doctor Carol Babb is a member of the Board of Directors and sits on the education grant committee of the credit union.
Dr. Carol Babb, Chief Education Officer
“Last year, we offered over four hundred thousand dollars in education grants and this year, I was informed that we already have over twelve hundred applications for educational assistance. And I am very proud of H.R.C.U. especially during this pandemic; many parents really want to ensure that their children get to continue their education. And as Chief Education Officer, I know how important education is. In my mind, education is the greatest investment so I applaud my fellow directors and the C.F.O. because we surely want to encourage our member owners to keep their children in school. School is an important place, a safe place for all children.”
