Up to Fourteen Million Dollars in MSME Assistance

The application process will run for a period of twenty-one days beginning in August.  There are specific conditions to qualify for assistance, including the use of those monies to cover the salaries of employees.

“The two million dollars that would be disbursed by way of grants to the micro, small and medium enterprises, we‘re looking initially at individual grants of two thousand, five hundred [dollars].  By our calculations at least one thousand micro enterprises would be able to get the individual grant of two thousand, five hundred dollars.  The seven million dollars as both Dr. Barnett and Minister Panton explained would be for wages for the small and medium enterprises paid on condition that they keep their employees social security contributions current and, as you heard, the National Bank will be the disbursement facility for all this, including the revolving loan of five million dollars for working capital purposes.”
