Gospel band releases new album
“It Ain’t Easy” is the name of the new album that’s about to be released by The Heavenlies Gospel Band. Some of the tunes share the vibes of popular Caribbean music and the songs may be just what church leaders have been hoping for to pull young people back into the fold. The clean, inspirational lyrics are what the group is hoping will make life less difficult.
Ian Mariano, Heavenlies Gospel Band
“As young Christians we realize the struggle that most people are having out there in society, to remain faithful to God. “It ain’t easy” meaning that it’s not easy being a Christian out there today. On a social prospect, it is very hard for us to unite as a country. It is not going to be an easy task to accomplish either feat, but with God we know it will be possible.”
“These fourteen songs present a variety of presenting the Gospel. We believed that through everything God is the answer. If you’re struggling in your Christian life, these fourteen songs will help you to get through that and help us unite together as a country. We have a variety or music. This CD can be left on and be played in a household and each member–I am speaking of senior citizens, right down to the little toddler–will enjoy the music because we have a wide variety. We have reggae, dancehall for the younger people, pop, slower music, worship, which is geared towards the senior citizens and punta rock, which is right across the board, that’s as Belizean as rice and beans.”
On Saturday, the group will be launching the album and CD’s and cassettes will be available at music stores by Monday. The group also plans to host a “Revolution” concert for its fans by the third week in October.
