Xia Ona Store in Pomona is Robbed, 4 Suspects Detained
A band of armed thieves, now in police custody in Belmopan, may have been responsible for a string of robberies committed between Saint Matthew’s Village and Pomona over the weekend. On Saturday evening, the proprietor of Xia Ona store was also stabbed multiple times by four men who also fit the description of those who robbed Jacklyn’s Store in Saint Matthew’s earlier that day. According to police, the suspects made off with an assortment of liquor, cigarettes and other electronic items before being busted near the outskirts of Belmopan.

“On Saturday, sometime around 5:50 p.m., police were called to Xia Ona Store in Pomona Village where the proprietor reported to them that sometime around five p.m. whilst inside his business place he was approached by four armed male persons, two of whom were dark complexion and two Hispanics where he was robbed of an undisclosed amount of monies, liquor, cigarettes and other electronic items and in the process, he resisted and he too received stab wounds whilst in the process of resisting. Those persons then left the area in a white jeep, northbound and as a result of quick police investigation; it led to the detention of four persons who are now in our custody. Police have so far recovered some of these items and are seeking two more suspects in relation to this investigation.”
