House destroyed by fire in Lord’s Bank
A fire in Lord’s Bank, near Ladyville, has destroyed a wooden house. At 9:30 Saturday morning a neighbour saw smoke coming from the roof of the building, which at the time was unoccupied. While fire and police personnel were called to the scene and the flames extinguished, the house and contents, valued at twenty-five thousand dollars and uninsured, were completely destroyed. The house was apparently being used by young relatives of the owner an elderly man, who moved to Belize City several months ago. Two persons have been detained by police for questioning. Coincidentally only two houses separate the destroyed building from the home of Fire Chief Henry Baizar.
