Water levels back to normal
As quickly as the waters rose, they have receded. That’s the story coming from the people of Roaring Creek Village and Toledo where the raging waters, which threatened to hinder traffic on Wednesday have now retreated. Yesterday a police officer stationed in Roaring Creek Village alerted the media that the river was rising dangerously close to the bridge. At news time on Wednesday, the water was only eight feet from the bottom of the bridge and still rising. Well tonight we have good news, as sources told News Five that the water has gone down considerably and is no longer a hindrance to the vehicular traffic passing through Roaring Creek Village. Residents of Toledo can also rest easier tonight, as things are back to normal in the areas along Golden Stream and Deep River on the Southern Highway. Reports are that those areas have been passable since early this morning.
