Two charged in teen abduction
There’s good news and bad news in the case of missing teenager Delene Loria. The good news–at least for the Loria family–is that two men have been arrested and charged in the case. They are thirty-one year old Adelito Canul and twenty-nine year old Rangel Canul, both of Santa Clara Village in Corozal. The pair, who were allegedly in the getaway car at the time of the kidnapping of the fifteen-year old girl, were charged with forcible abduction. No plea was taken nor bail offered and the two were remanded into custody until their next court date on August eighteenth. The bad news, however, is that Delene is still missing and is believed to be in the company of her boyfriend, eighteen-year old Jacobo Correa. Police and family members believe that the two are still in Belize. The family has denied that the case is in any way related to previous attempts by Delene to run away and maintains that the girl was seized Sunday by Correa on Sarstoon Street in Belize City against her will.
