Family scolds police over missing girl
The Loria Family of Santa Clara village in the Corozal district needs your help in trying to find fifteen year old Delene Loria who was allegedly abducted on Sunday morning as she walked to a store on Sarstoon Street. On Monday evening, when we spoke with Patrick Jones, a family member, he told News Five that the father of the alleged abductor identified as eighteen year old Jacobo Correa, had called the family and apologized for his sons’ actions and then gave them an address where they can go and pickup the girl. Today, Jones told us that when they got to the address, no one was at the house. Although the police have stated that they do not believe the young girl was kidnapped, the family contends that Loria was taken against her will. The Loria family, in a press release, have implored the police to get all the facts about the incident instead of jumping to conclusions. The family also categorically denies reports that Correa is the young girl’s boyfriend and that she has a history as a runaway. However, police tell News Five that on July sixth Loria ranaway with Correa and in her statement to the police when she returned, she referred to Correa as her boyfriend. Delene Loria is of Hispanic descent and stands five feet two inches tall. Loria, who weighs about one hundred pounds, was last seen wearing a green blouse, long brown jeans and a pair of blue slippers. If you know the whereabouts of Delene Loria you are asked to contact Patrick Jones at 014-7449. Meanwhile the police say they are treating the case as a number one priority and believes the girl is still in the country. Reports to News Five indicate that two persons have been detained and the car has been impounded.
