No COVID-19 Assistance Programmes for Blackman Eddy Village?
Today, while a News Five crew was in Blackman Eddy Village, located on the George Price Highway near the cut-off to the Iguana Creek Bridge, they caught up with the chairman of the village, who says that the residents have also not been spared from the effects of COVID-19. Despite a list of names being submitted to receive assistance from the pantry programme, a number of persons remain without help. Now the village falls within the Cayo Central division and Village Chairman Keino Green believes that politics is at play.
Keino Green, Chairman, Blackman Eddy Village Council
“When it comes to groceries and stuff, they say dah noh political, but to me political issue is all about that. They got few people weh dehn di give. We select certain names and dah noh all ah fi we people get and then people di come to me and say dah politics. I tell people, there is only so much that we can do. We can’t do more than we could do.”
