Fire damages Corozal club

A fire in Corozal has caused extensive damage to a popular nightspot. The Capri Club, had already closed for the night when the Fire Department was called out to the location at 12:30 early this morning. A fire was raging in the upper flat of the building and was threatening to burn down the entire two-storey concrete and wooden structure. However, Corozal firemen quickly managed to extinguish the flames and it appears that the ground floor can be salvaged. Fire officials were today at the scene investigating the blaze and do not know at this time what caused the fire. The building, which was being rented at the time of the incident, was not insured.
