COVID-19 Joke on Facebook Lands Man in Hot Water with Cops!

A second man was also quarantined today and expected to be swabbed all because of a post he made on Facebook post. Ryan Gentle posted a photo without a mask on Facebook and captioned it to say, “Working without no mask….I want to catch COVID-19 and spread it.” Now he may have thought it was a silly joke but the Commissioner of Police didn’t find it funny. Gentle’s post was widely shared across Facebook and drew scorn from the public for making light of a serious situation. But by the time he removed the photo and acknowledged what he had done, ComPol Chester Williams was already on the case. He asked for the public’s help on Gentle’s whereabouts because he was being sought by the authorities. And shortly after he gave an update to say that Gentle had been picked up by police and taken for a COVID-19 test after which he’d be placed in quarantine.
