Woman charged in San Pedro stabbing

A long standing dispute between neighbours has left a mother and son hospitalized in the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. According to San Pedro police, at about 11:00 a.m. on Friday morning, Dolores Uk was having a heated argument with one Michelle Pineda. Uk’s son, Orlando, seeing the dispute taking place apparently intervened but as he did, Pineda allegedly took out a knife and stabbed at the Uk’s. As a result Dolores Uk received stab wounds to the left side of her face and upper left arm while Orlando Uk was stabbed to his left leg and right ring finger. Police have arrested Pineda and charged her with attempted murder, dangerous harm and wounding. In the Cayo district another woman faces charges after she allegedly stabbed a young man. That man, identified as nineteen year old Alden Smith, told police that around 10:15 Friday night he was having an argument with a man when the man’s common law wife stabbed him to the left side of the ribs with a knife. Police say because they are still investigating the incident, no charges as yet have been made. Meanwhile in Belize City, a young man was severely beaten and his bicycle stolen from him. Police report that around 9:20 Sunday night, eighteen-year old Myron Harris was riding his black mountain bike but as he went over the Vernon Street bridge, four men attacked him and took away his bike. Harris managed to get away from his attackers, but police say that’s when he noticed that he had been stabbed. Harris remains hospitalized in the KHMH in serious but stable condition.
