Arson suspected in Belize City fire
After an early morning fire on Thursday destroyed most of the upper flat of a building in Belize City, today, the fire department has concluded its investigations. According to officials, because of the fire path, the fact that traces of fuel were found and the way the household items burned at this home on Reggae Street, arson is suspected. But that’s all the fire department can do, suspect. In this case, arson cannot be proven because eyewitnesses did not see anyone leaving the building prior to or during the blaze, so suspicions cannot be confirmed. When News Five contacted Victor L. Bryant, the company that insured the house and its contents, we were told that their investigations continue and at this time it is uncertain when any monies will be paid out.
