Fire destroys Belize City home

Meanwhile, in Belize City, fire fighters responded to a fire on Reggae Street just before four this morning. It is estimated that seventy five percent of the house and its contents have been ruined by fire and water. The owners of the house, identified as Hugh Thomas and Stephanie Craig, were not home at the time. Fire Chief Henry Baizar says the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

“After looking at the house, we discovered it was not the result of an electrical fire so the investigation continues. Everything is suspected at this moment, we haven’t ruled out anything.”

“The guys are out there at the present moment and we’ll try to ascertain what transpired as soon quickly as possible, probably today or tomorrow.”

According to Baizar, the house and its contents are insured with Victor L. Bryant.
