New fire truck for San Pedro
Residents of San Pedro should rest easier tonight as they received a new fire truck courtesy of the government of Belize. The vehicle comes as the last of five, which were bought by the National Fire Service and built to meet local specifications. Among other items purchased were 100 fire hydrants, which will be placed in Belize City and district towns. Financing for the tenders came from a two million dollar capital budget allocated to the National Fire Service for the 1999-2000 fiscal year.
