PM attends CARICOM Conference

The PM might have only gotten home on Sunday, but he’s off again tonight. Earlier today, Prime Minister Said Musa left the country enroute to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Musa will be attending the 21st meeting of the Conference of CARICOM Heads of Government from July 2nd to the 5th. At that meeting, the regional leaders will be discussing a number of issues including the threat to the region from the HIV/AIDS epidemic, trade matters, the advancement of the CARICOM single market and economy and the territorial integrity of member states. Talks will also include the implementation of the nine protocols amending the Treaty of Chaguaramas. The Treaty promises to pave the way for the new economic integration process for the region and the establishment of the Caribbean Court of Justice. Lawrence Sylvestre, the Director of International Affairs and CEO of Investment and Trade Crescencio Sosa, are among those in the Belize delegation.
