Chester Williams

Over the weekend a police officer was caught smuggling a border jumper in the south. The officer and his wife were stopped at a checkpoint in Punta Gorda.  Police and immigration officers there were searching for an individual believed to be a border jumper, who had illegally entered Belize through Jalacte in Guatemala. Instead they found a woman hiding in the back seat of the police officer’s vehicle. The offending officer stopped at the checkpoint believing that he would be allowed to pass with ease but instead his vehicle was checked. The officer of the law is expected to be charged for facilitating his sister-in- law with illegally crossing the border. Commissioner of Police Chester Williams gave details.
