September Celebrations Theme 2020 is Chosen

“Overcoming Adversity, Creating Opportunity. Belizeans: Unite for Prosperity” – that’s the theme for this year’s September celebrations.  The theme was chosen from among a record breaking three hundred and twelve submissions. According to Chair of the Theme Sub-Committee of the National Celebrations Commission, one hundred and thirty-one persons participated in the competition. The announcement of the winning theme was done via a virtual press conference.

“We usually choose one that is relevant to our conditions and our situation—how Belize is doing; how do we look at it. And this year’s theme that the committee selected was ‘Overcoming Adversity, Creating Opportunity. Belizeans: Unite for Prosperity!’ We believe that this is the most relevant theme to what we are going through right now. I do believe that it is a theme that really moves and gives us the spirit to look at what is happening to us.”
