Man gets 6 years for trying to trick the courts
A Belize City man was sentenced to six years of imprisonment after he tried to pull a fast one on the courts by using a fake name. Today fifty-two year old Charles Felix posed as one Ralph Yorke when he appeared in Magistrate’s Court and pled guilty to the charge of Possession Simplicitor. The plea earned him a fine of three thousand five hundred dollars with time to pay. When he was about to walk out the doors, however, a police corporal recognized “Yorke” to actually be Felix. The cop also recalled that Felix, who is no stranger to breaking the law, owed the courts ten thousand dollars for a previous Drug Trafficking offence. As a result, Felix was detained, put into custody and due to defaults in payments sentenced to serve two-three year terms for both incidents. Felix’s most current case of drug trafficking occurred on March twenty-ninth when he was busted on Haynes Street with one hundred and fifteen grams of cannabis.
