Taxi driver from San Joaquin disappears
Corozal police are looking at several possibilities in the disappearance of a resident of San Joaquin Village. Forty-six year old taxi driver, Enrique Ricardo Magana was last seen when he left home around seven on Saturday morning. When he did not return by Sunday, his wife, Viola Magana, became concerned and reported the missing man to the police. But conflicting and unconfirmed reports are that Magana was spotted inside the Free Zone on Sunday. Police say Magana has had a number of run-ins with the law for driving under the influence and this time they are hoping the matter is not more serious than that. That’s because today they found Magana’s van at farm on the Consejo Road. And while the vehicle was in tact, the keys and Magana’s passport were inside. What also has police growing concerned is the discovery of a number of empty Ibuprofen pill packets inside the vehicle as well outside near the driver’s door. A search of the open area around the vehicle yielded nothing. Police say Magana left home after a domestic dispute and cops were called to intervene. Tonight police are asking anyone who might know his whereabouts to call the nearest police station. When he left home Enrique Magana was wearing khaki shorts and a grey T-shirt with white stripes.
