P.M. in Madrid, Spain

Tonight the Prime Minister is still in Madrid, Spain and by all accounts his visit has been very successful. P.M. Musa has met with several business groups and trade investment organizations to strengthen economic ties with Spain. And it seems most of those ties should bring about tangible benefits for Belizeans. One company, the Dragados Group has decided to tender for the job of constructing the new facilities of the University of Belize campus in Belmopan. Another agency, the Angencia Espanola para la Cooperacion Internacional (AECI) has promised scholarships for Belizean students in museography, archeology and tourism related studies. Other businesses have also agreed to assist Belize in areas such as the promotion of cultural industries by indigenous Belizeans and a language program to teach Spanish in Belize at the primary school level. Prime Minister Musa will meet with Spain’s President Aznar tomorrow.
