Celebrating Ninth Night Bram Virtually
This year’s national celebrations will be held virtually due to the COVID pandemic and the fact that gatherings are limited to ten persons. On Wednesday night, the Ninth Night Virtual Bram will be held. The virtual event starts at nine o’clock in the night and will feature an array of performances from Belizean artists and singers. The event will be hosted by DJ Dalla who explains how Belizeans can be part of the celebration.
DJ Dalla, Host
“It is going to be live on all the local television stations and Facebook. As you know we cannot go out to bram so we have to bring the bram home. So we are going to be home in the comfort of our own home. We are going to be having Lord Rayburn, Kenny Gladden and the New Creation band, Coconut Bwoy, Chico Ramos, Sweet Pain, Mohobob, Lucio and the New Generation bringing it live to you on your television set. We all know normally ninth night we are at some event, concern, club or a party and then tenth day we going to watch the parade and we go and march behind the parade but with COVID we have to accept reality. So you are at home. You dress up in your tenth outfit, you get our flags you colors. We will be singing the tenth songs.”
Kim Vasquez, ICA/NICH
“I can tell you from the Ninth Night to bring in the tenth going into the official ceremonies, it is the same. It is going to be a combination of virtual and pre-recorded. So it’s the same. We are asking everybody to rally behind their spirits of patriotism and to tune in for the official ceremonies. Of course you know one of the highlights of the Tenth Day of September ceremony is the installation of the Queen of the Bay which will be a part of that ceremony and we will also have a few items of entertainment on the line up as well.”
The official ceremony on September tenth is set for ten thirty in the morning.
