The IOM makes a donation to the Immigration Department
The Immigration Department has been gifted with seven flat-screen television sets by the International Migration Department. The TVs will be used to display infomercials vital in the migration processes. The donation was made on Wednesday and the sets will be placed at entry points across the country. According to the I.O.M., the infomercials are targeted at enhancing the migrant’s experience when entering Belize by providing information on entry forms, national provisions on length of stay, acquiring visas, requesting extension of stay, and human trafficking indicators. Information on MigApp, a free user-friendly application is also included in the infomercial. The MigApp contains data on a number of important issues that migrants need to be informed about when migrating to Belize. There is also information on the scourge of human trafficking and labor exploitation.
