56 Year-Old Florita Harris is Missing

Where is fifty-six-year-old Florita Harris?  On Saturday, Emmett Usher reported to police that Harris was last seen on September ninth at the upper flat of this building on Levi Slusher Street in the Jane Usher Boulevard area of Belize City. According to Usher, he left for work around seven o’clock that morning and when he returned twelve hours later, his tenant was nowhere to be found. Harris has been renting for a few months; she is not known to have relatives living in Belize and does not usually spend the night away. Usher and his family are concerned because Harris has been missing for about a week.

“She was last seen here by us earlier in last week, prior to the holiday, the tenth. It is concerning because it is not something that she woulda do. Ih woulda go and take ih walks and come back and she woulda just deh right upstairs.”

“So this is the longest that she has been away?”

“Yeah. She neva spend a night out yah. Ih woulda go whole day, yes, but she comes back.”

“I woulda say a couple months, prior to June.”

“I understand that she doesn’t have relatives living in Belize.”

“Not that we know of, not that we can confirm. They are people who are taking care of her from abroad and my dad keeps in contact with them. She is dark skinned. She is short, thick; ih always have ih hair wrap up. Ih usually have some bags with ahn; she walk around with everything weh ih possibly own.”
